Panasonic Introduces Voice-Based PTZ Camera Control

Panasonic continues to revolutionise AV recording with the introduction of the Panasonic PTZ camera solution with voice-based camera tracking. Using Sennheiser microphones for audio-based tracking, the PTZ cameras can automatically switch focus between different speakers. With automated and smooth camera panning, it’s ideal for online conferences, training courses or lectures, for example, when questions are asked from the floor, or a new person speaks at the conference table.

The solution uses Panasonic PTZ cameras and TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphones from Sennheiser. They are managed centrally by a controller via the network. Panasonic is already using the solution at its own Business Solution Centre Europe (BSC) with a media control system from Crestron, but other comparable control systems can also be used.

Panasonic embraces NewTek's NDI Network Video.

NewTek's NDI is being seen increasingly as the de facto standard for live video production, and evidence of the take-up is mounting. Here’s just one, significant, example.

Panasonic has just announced the arrival of a complete range of professional PTZ (Pan / Tilt /Zoom) cameras with built-in NDI (Network Device Interface) support.

A quick reminder: NDI is NewTek’s video over IP ecosystem that features low latency and high quality video over “traditional” IP networks. It provides a way to make real time connections between NDI enabled video devices, and features an extremely efficient codec designed to retain quality while maximising the number of channels that can be carried on any given network infrastructure.
